WHY MERINO WOOL?
Merino wool is a superfine natural fiber grown by Merino sheep, evolved to keep them comfortable through dramatic changes in temperature and weather. That same fiber naturally manages moisture, resists odor, breathes, and feels remarkably soft against skin.
Merino can absorb up to a third of its weight in moisture vapor without feeling wet — while continuing to insulate when damp. So when you stop moving, you stay warmer and avoid the sudden chill common with sweat-soaked layers.

Our SF100™ combines longer, finer 17.5-micron Merino fibers with an ultralight 150gsm construction — elevating softness, durability, breathability and warmth-to-weight for higher-output performance.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Merino is naturally easy to care for and needs less washing than most fabrics. When it does need a wash:
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry low if needed.
For the longest life, we recommend:
Use wool detergent • Wash only when needed • Line dry or lay flat to dry • Avoid high heat
A little extra care goes a long way.

A NOTE FROM CARSON
Hello Trailblazers — and welcome to those joining us for the first time.
I’m Carson, founder of Seadon.
I started Seadon because I wanted to build better clothing for the way I love to live — running, hiking, traveling, and spending as much time outside as possible.
Seadon has always been shaped by different places, cultures and perspectives. I split my time between the U.S., UK and Hong Kong, depending on where the business needs me most.
During key production periods, I’m usually in Hong Kong. Being close to our factories, suppliers and development partners means I can work directly with them on fabrics, fit, colors and quality control — often solving things in days that would otherwise take weeks from thousands of miles away.
More importantly, we’ve built relationships with many of these partners over years. That gives a small brand like Seadon much more flexibility in how we develop and produce — and it’s one of the reasons we’re able to offer so many colors in this campaign without simply producing huge quantities of everything.
We also work closely with fabric specialists in Taiwan, and my curiosity about materials has taken me much further — including to New Zealand, where I traveled to learn firsthand about Merino wool and meet some of the people behind this incredible natural fiber.
But wherever Seadon takes me, the outdoors is still where I come back to — and where most of our products ultimately get tested.
It’s also a constant reminder of what we’re trying to protect.
I don’t believe there’s one perfect material. When synthetics make sense, we prioritize recycled alternatives. And where nature can do the job better, we want to explore that further.
That’s why this campaign means a lot to me.
This next evolution of Traveler and SF100 marks our return to Merino — and the beginning of a much bigger natural-performance journey for Seadon through our Roamerino™ platform.
We’ve taken what we’ve learned through years of product development, real-world testing, customer feedback and Kickstarter campaigns, and put it into these two pieces.
And there’s much more I want to explore from here.
I’ll be sharing more of the stories behind Seadon throughout the campaign — including our Merino journey, what we’ve learned along the way, and how the new Seadon Backer Program will bring our backers much closer to what we’re building next.
