It seems like the Longbeard Freight company finally managed to deliver a handful of containers without dumping them on Hoxxes IV, this is truly a day worth celebrating! And what better way to celebrate than by enjoying a cup of your favorite dwarven beverage with friends, back at the Abyss Bar?

Allow us to present to you the DRG Special Beer Mug: a beautiful and safe-to-drink-from pint mug, designed to be of the highest quality while still being suitable for your everyday use!

Dwarven mugs, in the palm of your hand!

Manufactured from food safe plastic, with a mighty 500ml/16.9 oz capacity and the ability to handle your favorite hot or cold beverage (even non alcoholic ones).

We’ve paid extensive attention to quality in the production process of these mugs, working with experts to select the best materials possible to allow the mugs to be capable of everyday use, while maintaining faithfulness to the source material.

Engineered to be sturdy enough to withstand the dishwasher, the microwave and the strongest alcoholic drinks (but not a drunken dwarf's antics). The ingame design has been reimagined to take into account the most recent DRG employees studies in ergonomic design and allow for a nice prolonged drinking time.

The mugs will be laboratory tested to meet EU and FDA standards for food and beverage consumption. They're safe to use with hot and cold liquids, strong alcohols, and can be put in the microwave as well as the dishwasher. They are resistant to shock but can still break: please, do not throw them around. Consider them with the same care as you would with any other mug or pint.

Staying true to the legendary status of dwarven craftmanship, these mugs are extremely complex, among the most complex shapes ever done by our manufacturer.

The Pots O' Gold mug is going to be the first mug variety available for purchase. With its vibrant shades of green and its sumptuous golden reflection, it's one of DRG’s most iconic mugs.

The color scheme for the other mugs will need to be unlocked through stretch goals, due to manufacturing's minimum order thresholds.

Once the campaign ends, you will be able to choose your color scheme from the unlocked stretch goals for each mug in your pack.

• Any large project can be risky and requires a great deal of funding in order to make it a reality, and while we knew there was some interest in bringing replicas of Deep Rock Galactic’s mugs into the real world for use, gauging an accurate estimate of the number of people interested proved to be difficult. Kickstarter allows us to solve those problems by both quantifying the amount of interested people, and gathering the funds necessary for production.
   
• Kickstarter also gives us the opportunity to get feedback from the community in real time, letting us make decisions on what can be done to deliver the best product we can.
   
• As we are a small company that does not have ties to major retailers for physical storefront sales, Kickstarter provides us with the best means to bring our products to you!
   
• In the event that the project does not reach its baseline funding goals, no charge will be issued and production will not go forward.

The prototyping and design process of these mugs began back in August of 2023, with various prototypes being produced over time. We strove to produce the most ergonomically comfortable design possible while retaining that iconic look brought by Ghost Ship Games’ art direction in their game. 

This was a collaborative effort, working with various experienced and trusted experts to ensure the quality we desired would become a reality. The goal was a simple one: To make a product of such a high quality that we would want to buy it.

These are the ESTIMATED shipping costs for a selection of pledges. Specific shipping costs will be calculated in the pledge manager, once the campaign is complete.

Prices may vary depending on the country or region (some US states have lower fees than others, for example).

We will strive to keep the shipping fees at or under these estimates, but the state of the world might impact these in between the campaign and the moment we are ready to ship. We will keep you appraised of any changes that occur.

Taxes will be collected, if applicable, in the pledge manager after the campaign, depending on your chosen country of delivery.

Unfortunately, we are not able to deliver to countries that are at war or considered at risk. These are :

Scorched Steel Studio was founded by Alexis Nef, a multi-format artist with a masters degree in product design and a love for bringing fantasy into reality. Scorched Steel’s first production was a replica of the mining companion Bosco from Deep Rock Galactic, and was soon followed by various community commissions of players’ characters from the game, and stunning dioramas depicting scenes from virtual worlds. 
Later on came a limited production run of replica Glyphid Slammer mugs from DRG, but Alexis’ true desire was to bring the mugs to the community at large while keeping them affordable and maintaining that same initial high fidelity.

This goal was not sized to be a one-man task though, and to meet the needs of a larger production run Alexis enlisted the help of Eliott Ganne and Matthieu Ledoux to found Scorched Steel Industry.
